Course Changes 2023-2024

When and how to make a course change?

Course change requests by email or telephone will not be accepted. Requests must be via the online form Grades 11/12 here,  Grade 10 here.  Check the school website, under announcements for the link.  Complete the form on Monday August 28 th, from 2pm to 10pm and only one request per student.  If we are able to make your course change you will receive an updated timetable on the first day of school.

  • Details:
    • Grade 11 and 12 students:  you must be available by phone and your abbyschools email on Monday August 28th, AND Wednesday August 29th, 2023.  If counsellors have a question, this will be your only opportunity to provide an answer.
    • Grade 10 students:  you must be available by phone and abbyschools email on Wednesday, August 29th AND Thursday, August 31st, 2023.  If counsellors have a question, this will be your only opportunity to provide an answer.
    • Grade 9 students:  Your MyEd account/password has not been set up.  Your timetable will be available for pick up during your orientation on Thursday, August 31st from 12-2pm.  If you do not attend orientation, please check the lists posted on the west foyer doors on Monday, September 4th, for your homeroom.  Your timetable will be available from your homeroom teacher.
  • Which priority is your course request?
    • PRIORITY 1 - You have less than 8 courses scheduled for the year OR missing a graduation requirement OR been put into an incorrect grade level core course. 
    • PRIORITY 2 - You have a course in your timetable that you've already completed and received credit for OR are a grade 10/11 student who requires a course to meet post-secondary program requirements.
    • PRIORITY 3 - You've changed your mind (from original request, would like to change elective, balance timetable, etc.).
  • Academic Study Blocks:
    • Please note that the policy for assigning an Academic Study Block has changed and requires:
    • Parent and Administration permission AND
    • Five academic Grade 12 classes in your course load.
