That's a Wrap

That's a Wrap - Diwali

Thank you to everyone who came by today and supported via concession, art drawings, allowing students to miss class to set up, clean up, and participate.

Thank you to Lorne, Mrs. Gordon and Mr. Munro  for taking part as staff members in our first ever Gol Gappe Competition. It was amazing to see how many students were watching and the excitement it built.  Mr. Munro and his partner (gr 12) Gagan Sobat set a record in the finals as they finished 28 Gol Gappe in 30 seconds total. Winners of gift cards next week.

Thank you to Ms. Kooner and Mrs. Sidhu for organizing the Diva Art Challenge. Such nice art work that was displayed today. One or two winners to be rewarded next week.

We sold over 160 samosa, almost 8lbs of pakora, went through 200 gol gappe and a lot of pictures and memories. We hope to have more events in the new year with Rhythm and Roots and look forward to your support to bring it together. Everyone is welcome to take part and pitch in their ideas to make the events as inclusive as possible. Profits raised will continue to go and support our Hurricanes Vaisakhi Legacy Scholarship.

If you have Mansher, Parveen Sandhu, Harsh, and Luis (all grade 10) in your class, please give them a big praise as this was their Careers City Studio Project and they put in a ton of work before, during and after school to make it a true success. They hosted over 40 pre school students and their parents (picture of my Mom/daughter) who joined us today.

They were entertained with diva coloring, hot lunch, henna tattoos, face painting, a bhangra performance and they came dressed up. Very well received.
